Plane landing attraction

The Plane Landing Attraction

  1. Low Approaches Over Maho Beach: The runway at Princess Juliana International Airport is situated very close to the shoreline of Maho Beach. Due to the relatively short length of the runway (about 7,546 feet or 2,300 meters), aircraft, especially large jets, need to touch down as early as possible. This results in planes flying just a few dozen feet above the heads of beachgoers, creating a thrilling spectacle.
  2. Unique Experience: The proximity of the airport to the beach offers a unique and exhilarating experience for visitors. Tourists can stand on the beach and watch planes approach directly overhead, capturing incredible photos and videos. The roar of the engines and the sight of massive aircraft so close is an unforgettable experience for many.
  3. Popular Spot for Spotters and Tourists: Maho Beach has become a haven for plane spotters, photographers, and thrill-seekers. The Sunset Bar and Grill, located on the beach, is a popular spot where people can enjoy food and drinks while watching the planes land and take off.

The best and safiest experience will be from a boat. Most of ours daily tours around St Martin (motor trip) includes a stop at the airport
